Luis Thomas Castro Hidalgo returned to his Alma Mater as the Rector of the Maximum Study House to deliver support for the better development of the teaching and research, and in addition, made the announcement that during the holiday period several works shall be carried out having as a starting point the older buildings of the Faculty of Law and Political Science.
In this context, the academic staff headed by the Lic. Jesus Tovar Dominguez, in his capacity of Director of the FADER, offered a touching tribute, naming the Teachers Room the name of "Lic. Luis Thomas Castro Hidalgo" for posterity, whose plaque was unveiled by himself accompanied by officials of the central administration.
They also delivered a printing with the legend "the academic and managing personnel of the Faculty of Law and Political Science of the Universidad Juarez del Estado de Durango, presents this recognition to Lic. Luis Tomas Castro Hidalgo, on account of his brilliant career, great leadership and tenacity that have led him to the Rectory of our Alma Mater".
After delivering 5 computer sets, four projectors, 5 screens, 4 whiteboards, 4 printers and a collection of books called "The Great Problems in Mexico," the Rector stressed that: " it is a great satisfaction for me to be here, holding this honorable position, of great commitment and responsibility; returning to this house also means giving back to the Faculty a little of the much it deserves, because it is the pioneering school, the basis of our University".
He said that what he´s doing for the Faculty is not great, but very significant because "we know how to rate the struggle that doing things cost; and this has been done on the basis of work and much effort, but thanks to the support of people like you, academic and administrative workers and students. We have continued ahead, we have demonstrated to the University that we could not sit back and we have not sat behind; that is due to the effort you have done, to your willingness to work and, finally, here we are providing what is necessary in equipment."
Then, he announced that the library and the auditorium of the Hall of Oral Trials will have air-conditioning. Also the remodeling of the facade of the building "A", the oldest part of the Faculty, to be consistent with the facades of the adjacent units. The refurbishment of the large auditorium will also take place among other things that a Faculty with its study plan accredited deserves.
