Misión

The FAZ has the mission to train specialists in the field of agronomy with a clear spirit of service to rural society, through which the Bachelor Masters, and PHD programs emerge within a climate of ideological pluralism and academic excellence; regional and national competent, with scientific and technological knowledge, innovative and creative, with a solid background in the field, in laboratories, as well as conducting research, enabling them to competitively enter the labor market demands; but at the same time, with business attitudes to enable them to create their own employment options.
 
For the Faculty of Agriculture and Zootechnics of the UJED, the incorporation of technological development is key tool that will allow the productive agricultural sector of Mexico to establish systems of long-term exploitation of resources in the Mexican countryside to generate employment opportunities and economic flow in the sector, with minimal environmental impact.

Visión

The FAZ as a public institution hopes to bring together a participatory academic community, self-critic and creative, inspired by the highest standards of excellence, capable of transmitting the learner the motivation to realistically confront the paradigm of the new sectoral policies of the Mexican countryside and to be recognized nationally and internationally for its academic achievements and research; also because:

It will have an open and democratic institutional culture and an environment tat will promote the integral training of its students, where academic debate will dominate, where ideas are contrasting while respecting the opinions of others, and creaivity is encouraged and poductivity of all members community is estimulated
 
To develop the intellectual capacity of students and teachers in all academic programs (Bachelors, Masters and PhD) with plans and flexible curricula, relevant to regional issues and the labor demands of the country.

To optimize the teaching-learning process and increase the quality of agricultural research in order to establish a scheme that will make the generation and technology transfer efficent and streamline to the the country´s agricultural production sector.

Objetivos de Calidad

With the clear objective of making changes that would consolidate a renewed institution, it has been decided to adopt the academic leadership, the bonding and social commitment and the principles to guide the lines of work, programs and actions of the FAZ. The tasks to be performed are varied, as well as the opinions that emerge every day about ways of organizing to meet them.

Alcanzar el liderazgo académico en materia agropecuaria debe traducirse en vocación y desempeño de los estudiantes, debe generarles una actitud vanguardista que los conduzca a su desarrollo profesional y satisfacción personal, al mismo tiempo que trasmita a la sociedad el deseo y la posibilidad de superación y triunfo. El Compromiso social implica que la Faz sea una Institución con reglas claras y conocidas que garanticen equidad para el ingreso, permanencia y promoción de estudiantes, trabajadores y académicos; esto habla de una institución rigurosa en sus quehaceres, particularmente en la educación que ofrece a los jóvenes de la región, a quienes debe garantizar una formación de gran rigor y calidad académica y profesional en el campo de la Agronomía.

Achieving academic leadership in agricultural issue should result in student performance, a cutting-edge attitude that leads to professional development and personal satisfaction; at the same time to convey to society the desire and ability for self improvement and triumph . Social commitment implies that the FAZ is an institution with clear and known rules to ensure fairness for admission, retention and promotion of students, workers and academics; this speaks of a rigorous institution in its tasks, particularly in the education offered to the youth in the region, to whom high quality training, academic rigor and professionalism in the field of Agriculture must be insured..
